Why did we evolve this way of having different clothes for different ocassions?

You have your clothes that you wear at home, comfy clothes. But if you go to i.e. school you change your clothes to you streetwear…but why? Is it a competition, is it about being no.1? Because this is evolution i think. We developed this manner of behaviour; where did it come from? Religion? or what other sources there might be.

We dress more formally for certain occasions to signify that they are important to us. Look at the theater–costumes are just a means to communicate the importance of a given occasion.

If you were to go out in the street in your robe and pajamas, people might laugh, but they would also think you didn’t care very much about what other people thought about you, or what you looked like to people you didn’t know. That’s why it used to be common for people to dress up when traveling on trains or airplanes–you never knew who you might meet while traveling, so you wanted to look your best.

Now that airlines have whittled the seat room down to where anything bigger than a whippet dog is cramped, this rule can no longer be observed and we all fly in our pajamas. LOL More’s the pity.

well, we all think we’re number one in our own eyes, so we have to keep the illusion up.

btw, i don’t know why i evolved this way, but i feel compelled to tell you that “i.e.” means, “in other words”. i think you meant to use “e.g.” which means “for example”.
    you’re welcome.

    you look great, btw.
